World's Top Ranked City

At the top of the list is Paris, which was chosen as the best city in the world for the second time in a row. While the City of Lights continues to attract visitors with its unique blend of historical splendor and modern energy, preparations for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games further increase the city's appeal. Nadejda Popova, senior director of Euromonitor International, said in a statement that Paris ranked high due to its tourism policy and performance in terms of attractions, tourism infrastructure and good operation.

Europe dominates the index, with 7 cities in the top 10 and a total of 63 cities in the top 100. European governance reflects a mixture of historical trends: wealth, multiculturalism and technological progress. Other European cities in the top ten were Madrid (3rd), Amsterdam (5th), Berlin (6th), Rome (7th), Barcelona (9th) and London (10th).

Other Cities

Among cities outside Europe, the top 10 includes Dubai (2nd), Tokyo (4th) and New York City (8th). Tokyo entered the top 10 for the first time, thanks to the recovery of its economy, the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and the weakening of its currency, bringing good results to people around the world.

Asia also performed well on the list; Several cities ranked in the top 20, including Singapore (11th), Seoul (14th), Osaka (16th) and Hong Kong (17th). This year's cities include Washington DC (48th), Montreal, Canada (68th), Santiago, Chile (88th) and Vilnius, Lithuania (92nd).

How the US Ranked

The eighth American city on the list includes New York (ranked 8th), up 2 percentage points through 2022. Los Angeles follows it in second place. Following in 19th place are Orlando (No. 25), Las Vegas on No. 34th, Miami on 35th, San Francisco on 42nd, Washington DC on 48th and Honolulu at 67th.
